CAVI Comments: The inscriptions had been read as signatures, the names Αριδελος and Nαυκυδες
being suggested (so in CIG), but Beazley and Payne rightly consider them
meaningless, while pointing out that the number of letters on A is correct for
Αρχικλες εποιεσεν; the foot (which probably belongs) and the lip are like those
of the London Archikles cup, B 418. Mock inscriptions?
