Remarks: Bearded head of Zeus from acroteriion. Life-size. H face hairline-lips 12.3. 2 small holes in top of head, .7 round, 1 oval. Hair forms smooth thick mass ending in spiral curls on forehead curling outwards from central part. Narrow fillet ear to ear. Rounded crown and hair falling in thick mass at back, painted black. Eyes hollow, flat, except for lids. Black glue for eye inlays. Moustache and beard are flat, raised masses, painted black. Head hollow. Th wall: neck 1.6, chest 3. Fairly carefully smoothed. Ears and 2 holes in top pushed open from outside, leaving clay around interior edges. Fragment of upper chest found in recent excavations.
