Above maenad's arm: illegible letters. Fr. c: below a mule, upside down, perhaps: [--]τιτιοιτ. Fr. d: below a mule: a tau remains of a row of letters.
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} Peek, who thinks (cf. Hampe) these are shouts to drive on the animals. He compares Acr. 2184: νονονο, and 2569: λολοσλοσ.
  • CAVI Comments: Frs. a - e. Hampe thinks gigioit is the braying of a mule. [So later Peek.] Cf. Berlin 1697. The gammas are printed as Ionic, hence I think they are probably miswritten tau's.
