500-490. Early (ARV[2]){1}.CAVI Subject: Int.: Naked girl holding a skyphos over a large krater.CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: along the margin: Π̣αναι[τ]ιος καλο[ς]. On the skyphos, in a reserved
area, but said to be in red: Δορις, i.e., either Δουρις or Δωρις.CAVI Footnotes: {1} ca. 485 (Beazley (1919)). {2} two frs. from Leipzig have since been
added; also a fr. given by Bothmer adding more letters of the kalos-name.CAVI Comments: For the interpretation of Δορις (vase painter or hetaera) see Bothmer apud
Buitron 97 and AttScr (1990), 86. - According to Robertson in Robertson (1992),
the girl [a hetaera] is drawing wine. He interprets the inscription on the
skyphos to refer to the vase painter Douris (p. 51): the Pioneer practice of
greeting a colleague.CAVI Number: 2851AVI Bibliography: Beazley (1919), 82-84, pl. 2,1 (photo), fig. 1 (dr.){2}. — ARV[2] (1963),
