  • CAVI Subject: Int.: Naked girl holding a skyphos over a large krater.
  • CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: along the margin: Π̣αναι[τ]ιος καλο[ς]. On the skyphos, in a reserved area, but said to be in red: Δορις, i.e., either Δουρις or Δωρις.
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} ca. 485 (Beazley (1919)). {2} two frs. from Leipzig have since been added; also a fr. given by Bothmer adding more letters of the kalos-name.
  • CAVI Comments: For the interpretation of Δορις (vase painter or hetaera) see Bothmer apud Buitron 97 and AttScr (1990), 86. - According to Robertson in Robertson (1992), the girl [a hetaera] is drawing wine. He interprets the inscription on the skyphos to refer to the vase painter Douris (p. 51): the Pioneer practice of greeting a colleague.
