[youth?] facing him. A-B: men and youths.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: starting above the man's head: hο [παι]ς; the inscription continues
vertically down: καλος. In the exerge, in BG: Εγεας{3}. Under the foot, Grr.:

CAVI Footnotes: {1} there seems to be confusion in the listings. {2} so B.-O. I rather think
the man is ready to give the youth(?) a lyre. {3} Hegeas: see LGPN ii, s.v.
Bothmer (1977a), 218-19, suggests that Hegeas refers to the seated man with the
lyre, the name recalling the poet Agias or Hegias, author of the Nostoi.
