CAVI Subject: A: three women washing: at left, a woman seen from the back using a scraper;
column; two women on either side of a laver on a stand, which in turn is on a
base; the woman on the right empties a hydria into the laver; above it, an
oinochoe hung up; at the extreme left, a sponge hung up{2}. B: komos: two
youths.
CAVI Inscriptions: A: on the bowl of the laver: nonsense: imitation: 10 letters, the fifth a
kappa 5 (see the chart in AttScr), the rest indistinct. There may also be some
dots on the one-step base.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} `but cannot be said to be in his manner'. {2} Bérard considers the women
athletes washing after excercise.
